International and Finnish top artists at Ruisrock – The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, Alma and Sunrise Avenue to perform in Ruissalo in July

Organised in Ruissalo in Turku, Finland on July 6th-8th, 2018, Ruisrock festival has announced the first acts for next summer. The festival will see performances by the super popular DJ producer duo The Chainsmokers, DJ Marshmello, who became internationally known with his remixes, rapper Tyler the Creator, who recently released a new album, and Princess Nokia, who is on a steep upswing. Finnish artists performing in Ruissalo are internationally renowned Alma and Sunrise Avenue.

American The Chainsmokers and anonymous performer Marshmello have provided the biggest dance music hits of the year. The Chainsmokers and Coldplay collaborated to produce “Something Like This”, which has been topping charts around the world. During the spring, the duo will tour the largest arenas of Europe before their show in Ruisrock in July. Performing in a marshmallow costume, Marshmello’s popularity has soared to record level with the song “Silence” produced in collaboration with Khaled and the hit “Wolves” released with Selena Gomez this autumn.

One of the most interesting rappers on the west coast, Tyler the Creator will come to Finland following the success of his latest album. Also known from the Odd Future collective, the rapper’s album “Flower Boy” was recently nominated for Best Rap Album GRAMMY. Internationally acclaimed rap artist Princess Nokia returns to Finland next summer. Making uncompromising feminist rap, the American artist has gained attention with her independent self-published releases “G.O.A.T” and “Tomboy”.

Finland’s brightest international stars, Alma and Sunrise Avenue are playing rare Finnish shows in Ruissalo in July. Alma’s popularity keeps growing around the world, and one of the two Finnish festival shows she is playing next summer takes place in Ruisrock. Sunrise Avenue is currently touring Europe performing to sold-out audiences, and Ruisrock is the group’s only festival show in Finland this summer.
